Dr Larrabee accepted the AMA’s highest public service award for the Face to Face program to assist victims of domestic violence with pro bono surgery. He has done fundraisers to support the program at Jazz Alley and Bake’s Place with jazz and poetry readings. Sam Hamill, an internationally known poet, dedicated a poem “Fourteen Stitches” to Dr. Larrabee in his recent book Dumb Luck.
