Susan Kurian, MD
Susan Kurian, M.D. is a graduate of the American Academy of Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) fellowship program and is also board certified in head and neck surgery. She completed her medical school training in her hometown in Morgantown, West Virginia, and subsequently completed internship and residency at Louisiana State University in Shreveport. She most recently worked with the facial plastic surgery division at Virginia Commonwealth University as well as at the Central Virginia Veterans Affairs Hospital, both in Richmond, Virginia, prior to moving to Seattle. Â
Dr. Kurian is passionate about aesthetic facial surgery with a focus on rhinoplasty of all kinds, including ethnic rhinoplasty, preservation rhinoplasty, and trauma reconstruction, and is also proficient in liquid rhinoplasty techniques. She has been administering facial injectables for over 7 years including all types of facial fillers, Botox, Dysport, Daxxify, and other neurotoxins. Dr. Kurian performs deep laser resurfacing, medical depth chemical peels, traumatic and acne scar treatment plans, ultrasound skin tightening, and radiofrequency microneedling treatments. She is also proficient in advanced face and neck lift techniques including eyelid and brow rejuvenation. She values natural results and working with patients to help them look and feel refreshed through a customized combination of both surgical and nonsurgical methods.Â
Dr. Kurian is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and a member of the Triological Society and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. She has presented her research at a number of national medical meetings including an update on facial fillers at the 2023 AAFPRS annual meeting. She also has an avid interest in global outreach; she was involved in mission work in Matamoros, Mexico, for several years and has led surgeries on past Global Surgical Outreach trips, most recently to Ethiopia in 2024. She will have upcoming trips with Global Surgical Outreach for cleft rhinoplasty and facial reconstruction in 2025.Â
